About us
Welkinweir is a 224-acre nature preserve and arboretum in a private valley in rural East Nantmeal Township. We are open for visiting Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. till 4:30 p.m. We offer a variety of nature walks and other programs.

Butterfly Big Day
Welkinweir, 1368 Prizer Rd, Pottstown, PA, USJoin us in celebrating the inaugural international Butterfly Big Day! We'll have a talk on butterflies by one of our PA Master Naturalist volunteers, a craft for the kids, and a guided walk to identify and document the butterflies at Welkinweir. This worldwide effort to document free-living butterflies helps to raise awareness of butterflies and the challenges they face. This is a great citizen science project for people of all ages. Every photo of butterflies submitted to iNaturalist will count! (You can find the iNaturalist app on the Apple App Store and on Google Play)
