IT Job Seeker 101# Abstract:
Are you an international student looking to kickstart your IT career in New Zealand? Join me for an exclusive, no-fluff session where we break down the reality of the local IT market.
As a recruiter, I see hundreds of CVs every week. I know exactly what hiring managers are looking for and what gets a profile rejected. In this session, I will go beyond the generic advice and provide you with a practical toolkit to help you stand out.
What we will cover:- IT Market Landscape: An overview of the key roles currently in demand in the Auckland IT sector.
- Contracts 101: Understanding the difference between Permanent and Contractor roles and how they impact your career.
- Salary Benchmarks: A realistic look at entry-level compensation to help you negotiate with confidence.
- CV Mastery: How to tailor your academic projects and background for the local ATS (Applicant Tracking Systems).
- Interview Edge: Proven strategies to communicate your value and master the STAR method.
Whether you are just starting your job search or feeling stuck in the application process, this session will provide you with the clarity and confidence you need to secure your first role.
