Double Dip - Whitewater Skills & Play - Boardman River - Beitner To Cass

Skill Level: Intermediate to advanced to run the Keystone Rapids down to Cass Road take out.

Meet at the put in 9:07 spot cars at 9:20 Safety meeting at 9:35 followed by group photo and paddles in at 9:45

We plan to paddle 2 laps of Beitner to Cass;
The 1st lap will be with a concentration on skills and play, surfing, etc. Expect the 1st lap to take 2 1/2 to 3 1/2 hours. We will take a lunch break after the 1st lap. The 2nd lap will take less time and will depend on energy levels.

We will practice whitewater paddling skills in the Keystone Rapids. Catching eddies, peelouts, ferrying, surfing waves and other fun stuff.
You need to have a whitewater type boat, it doesn't have to be fancy or the latest model, but rec boats with keels DO NOT WORK! Several of us have extra boats that you can borrow, but we will need to know ahead of time to have them available. Dress for the conditions, and have fun.

Mandatory post paddle debriefing at Terra Firma Brewery just around the corner from the takeout

1. PFD Required to be worn properly at all times
2. It's a good idea to bring dry clothes in a dry bag and some in your car.
3. Please be aware that we enjoy our alcoholic beverages off-river only due to safety and other concerns. Please respect the event host (It's awkward approaching someone mid-trip) and the clubs position on this matter. We’ll enjoy one with you after the trip.
4. We leave on time to make sure that those who have to drop out with out contacting us can do so. We also can't wait for those who will be running late to keep the paddle in order. Please be on time or early.
5. We leave together after the safety talk and picture. Please remain on land until the host has completed their duties in this regard.
6. Our sports are inherently dangerous. By signing up for this event you assume full responsibility for yourself and your guests', safety, equipment and well-being for the event including but not limited to loading, unloading, transport of boats and equipment, and shuttle participation.

Failure to sign up for this event precludes my participation in this group's events.
