Karen Greene - Demystifying WordPress: An Overview of the Concepts & Ecosystem.

ABOUT THE PRESENTATION
Every field has its own set of jargon, and WordPress is no different. In this presentation, we will define some of the common jargon and answer some of the common questions posed by those who are new to WordPress. We will start out assuming no knowledge of Wordpress at all but will continue on to "advanced beginner" and intermediate questions that tend to arise once you’ve spent a bit of time working in Wordpress.

ABOUT THE PRESENTER
Karen Greene, a long-time West Orlando WordPress co-organizer and host, built her first WordPress site in 2013. It was a personal blog, and all she knew how to do was choose a theme, change some colors, and start writing. In 2018, she volunteered to rebuild the Florida Tropical Weavers Guild website and quickly realized just how much she did not know about WordPress and websites. Since then, she’s been on a mission to improve her skills and now builds and maintains complex sites. So far, she’s been completely "no code" but has recently been dipping her toes into CSS, and glancing sideways at PHP.

It will be broadcast at 6:00 pm EDT on Thursday, May 16 as a live Zoom online meeting.

Participants are asked to mute their audio when the presentation begins. Please hold all questions until the end. After the presentation concludes, the presenter, organizers, and members of the meetup will discuss the presentation, answer questions, and socialize in video conference mode.

This presentation will be recorded! We will post it to our YouTube channel but without the interactive Q&A at the end.
