2026 Yosemite Firefall and San Francisco Informational Zoom Call
Details
NOTE: THIS IS A SIGNUP FOR A BRIEF INFORMATIONAL ZOOM MEETING.
If you have ever been to Yosemite at anytime during the year you know how special this park is. If you have ever heard of the event called Firefall (see photo) it is an event that you must witness in person. This event only happens for 2 weeks out of every year (from mid to late February) and only if all conditions are met (a cloudless sunset, enough snow on the top of El Capitan, and a warm enough day to melt some of that snow). All this to make it look like the water cascading down Horsetail Falls looks like fire coming down.
I have hosted this event twice. Once in 2019 where we didn't get to see the Firefall as the conditions were not right and once in 2022 where on our first attempt we were able to capture some amazing photos. But even when you don't get the firefall, Yosemite Park in the Winter is amazing.
Briefly, this is a 6-day event. We spend 3 days around the Yosemite area and 3 days in the San Francisco area. On the trip in 2019 we initially spent 3 nights in San Francisco and then rented a van for the 5 of us and spent 3 nights in the Yosemite area. In 2022 we spent our first 3 nights in Yosmite and then finished off with 3 nights in San Francisco. We had several people driving between San Francisco and Yosemite. There were 6 of us on this trip.
I will be putting together a short presentation which will include all expected costs of the trip and a tentative itinerary.
After you sign up if you could please send an email to riorich@hotmail.com so that I will have your email and can send you a Zoom invite to the meeting.
Any questions before the meeting please put in the comments.
