Djembe Class *In the Heights* Saturdays at 11 AM

Abubakr Kouyate teaches authentic West African djembe rhythms of Guinea and Mali in the traditional village style. All levels learn and plan together on djembe, sangba, kenkeni and dunnunba.

Even if you are brand new to drumming, there are always parts that you can play. These are intricate multipart rhythms that require at least 6 people to play all the parts, and Abubakr often adds parts to the polyrhythmic djembe orchestra.
