You are invited to join us for a strenuous 8-mile hike with about 2200-feet elevation gain. This hike will take about 5 hours.
We will meet at 8:30 for a prompt 8:45 AM start; in the parking area at 340 Otterkill Rd (approx. #), Salisbury Mills, NY 41.42576,-74.10169.
Schunemunk Mt is the highest mountain in Orange County at 1,664 feet. This hike will cover a variety of terrains – open meadows, boulder fields, open rocky ridges, spindly pines and deciduous trees.
The hike will start on the (W) Trestle to the (R) Otterkill trail. Upon reaching the (Bk) Dark Hallow trail we will be moving in a northly direction to the (Y) Jessup trail to the Megaliths. After a stop here we will return to the (Y) Jessup trail until we reach the (R) Otterkill trail to finish on the (W) Trestle to the parking.

Bring appropriate gear including a light/headlamp, micro-spikes, food, and water. Review/bring your map to be aware of topography and our location.

If Unable to Attend: Please cancel at least 48 hours prior to the event, so people on the waitlist can attend. If on the day of the event, you cannot make it, please take your name off the going list. Not attending hikers will be marked as “No-Show.” People with multiple “No-Show” will not be allowed on future hikes. Thanks....
