Minnewaska -Lower Lot -Castle Point - Lake Awosting Loop

Year 15 begins with an area favorite - Features - Views, Water, Photo Ops - N More! -

Note - Micro spikes are a requirement for this hike

Mileage - Somewhere between 8 and 9.9999 plus miles depending on the final route - Estimated Elevation Gain - depending on the final route this may fall into the 1500-2000 range - debating a route that we have never tried before that might place us in the typical Saturday 2000ft elevation gain range

Meetup Location - Lower lot -after passing booths stay straight -large lot - DO NOT DRIVE UP THE HILL

End time - Likely somewhere around 2:30- 2:45 -no later than 3

The New York State Parks page gives the address for Minnewaska as:

5281 Route 44-55
Kerhonkson, NY 12446

Google Maps chokes on that address, though. If your GPS doesn’t like it, either, you could try the intersection of 44/55 and Jenny Lane in Kerhonkson, NY, which is about a mile west of the very well-marked Minnewaska entrance on 44/55.

The fee for parking at Minnewaska is $10 per car and the park preserve opens at 9AM daily. I'd say plan to arrive by 8:50 as there is typically a line to enter the park.

Note: For this one, everyone will start off on the waitlist, and the primary spots will go to regulars with a consistent history of attending events.
