Note: For the majority of people within our group -this is somewhere between a 70- and 90-minute drive - yes even from Danbury -almost a straight shot on 84
Meetup Location - The Appalachian Trail Parking lot that is roughly about a minute down the road from the High Point State Park office.
Can utilize - Address: 1480 State RT 23, Sussex, NJ 07461
Note: The High Point State Park office is the perfect stop pre-hike as they have bathrooms and a Ranger Station
This is also a perfect hike for my Sunday regulars who wish to take a step up on the hiking ladder and just go a little further
Estimated Distance 8 to 9.999 miles - the last time we did this we came in at 9.10 - I may have a slight tweak to the route which should not affect the distance but potentially open up another viewpoint
No scrambles, no questionable scrambles - loop hike
What to bring - Water, snacks, hat, poles bug spray -sunscreen
Post hike dining option - The Early American Tavern -one of our favorite places
