**EDIT** 10/2: Oh, snap - now it's a potluck ride!

Richard Jacinto (the TNGR potluck king) has agreed to co-lead this ride so that we can have 2 groups... and we'll be having a post-ride potluck! Stick around after the ride for some tasty food! Bring a chair, a table, and food or beverages to share!

Note new start/end location: To accomdate the potluck we'll start from the school parking lot at the corner of Rosita Rd. and Peralta Rd. We'll ride to the trailhead from there. https://maps.app.goo.gl/1emQGVFUyzHTmU7w8

Please update your RSVP if you can no longer attend so that we can invite other riders off the wait-list.

***
Join for a Sunday tour of Pacifica's San Pedro Mountain trails! ~10-12 miles and 2K - 2.5K of vertical. Exhilerating downhill singletrack, amazing coastal views, and cool breezes off of the ocean.

Terrain: This not a beginner ride. Pacifica is a mix of blue & black terrain that requries an advanced-intermediate skill-set. Expect tight downhill switchbacks, rocks, and a lot of loose, steep and narrow descents. Frequent exposure to steep hillsides is part of the charm of this ride :) We'll take a "no peer pressure" attitude to techincal features - no shame in walking.

Route: Depending on the group's skill and interest we'll hit some combination of Fly Amanita, Mile, Boyscout, Gray Whale Cove and Twin Pines/Burnside. We'll stop and session the Waterfall on the Mile for a bit if there is interest & maybe lap the jumps on the top section of Boy Scout.

Pace: While we'll stop at the top of climbs to regroup, please note that you need a fair level of fitness for this ride due to some extended climbs- a mix of long fire road grinds and some punchy singletrack. We will keep a social pace- stopping to regroup at the top of climbs, after downhill or technical sections, and at intersections.

Meet at the school at the corner of Peralta and Rosita Rd: https://maps.app.goo.gl/1emQGVFUyzHTmU7w8

Come with all the ride essentials: full face (preferred for this terrain) helmet, protective gear (including shoes- that's a note for me), water, snacks, tool kit, and a fully functional bike.

If you are not sure if this ride is appropriate for you, please send me a message thru the app.

NOW THE NITTY GRITTY...
West Coast Mountain Bikers is a group riding community. We don't encourage individuals to come out to our rides that want to do their own ride five minutes after starting with us. We start together and stick together. If new to our group, please take the time to read our Ride Rating Guide, found at the link below.
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1eml9bs3b9aPik-XF9EuazGouBVefExveQXBc58Nkl9o/edit?usp=sharing

All of our rides require a helmet and properly maintained mountain bike.
Riders should be sure to read the description of the ride fully prior to their RSVP. Rides will vary by location and organizer, so be sure to sign up for rides that are appropriate for your skill and fitness level. If unsure if an event is appropriate, contact the event host prior to the event. If you have an existing medical condition please consult your doctor prior to joining an event.

Meetup.com and West Coast Mountain Bikers do not allow minors to attend events. We will occasionally make exceptions, so long as the parent is also in attendance.

The event host and organizers ultimately have the last call on who can and cannot attend a particular event. When a members safety is concerned we will always err on the side of caution.

Release of Liability:By joining this event, you hereby RELEASE and DISCHARGE it's owners, principals, affiliates, presenters, organizer, assistant organizer, hosts and participants from any and all liability, claims, demands or causes of action that you now have, or may have in the future, for injuries, damages, death and/or economic loss of any kind or nature, arising in whole or in part out of the activities, advice or information contained herein. You further agree that if you or someone under your supervision uses the information on this website you assume all risks of injury, damage, and economic loss, without limitation, and release providers from all liability.

Thanks,
