Demo Flow, Steady n Slow (Intermediate / 16 miles / 2300 ft / C pace)
Details
Join us for a classic tour through Soquel Demonstration State Forest! We’ll be tackling the quintessential Demo experience: a steady climb followed by some of the best technical and flowy singletrack in the region... and end with a gruesome fire road climb back T_T
The Route
- Climb: Fire road grind to the top of Aptos Creek.
- Descent: Ridge Trail (Technical) followed by the Flow Trail (Fast & Flowy).
- The Return: Fire road climb back out to the staging area.
Pace & Difficulty
- Skill: Intermediate. Ridge features roots and technical rock gardens; Flow is high-speed with large berms and rollers.
- Fitness: Intermediate+. The fire road climbs are long and tough and Flow trail itself can destroy your thighs...
- Pace: C-Pace. We are aiming for roughly 90 minutes per climb (with 1–2 rest stops) and about an hour on the singletrack.
Schedule & Logistics
- Meet: 9:20 AM at the bridge.
- Roll: 9:30 AM sharp.
- There is no cell service at the staging area. We won't see "running late" messages, so please aim to be early! If you miss the roll, feel free to try and catch us on the first climb.
Required Gear
- A well-maintained mountain bike.
- Helmet (Required).
- Water, snacks, and trailside repair tools (tubes, multi-tool, pump).
Keep in mind that Soquel Demonstration State Forest does NOT allow E-bikes
Guest riders are not allowed; this ride is for WCMB members. If you have a guest, please have them join. Liability etc. Thank you.
NOW THE NITTY GRITTY...
West Coast Mountain Bikers is a group riding community. We don't encourage individuals to come out to our rides that want to do their own ride five minutes after starting with us. We start together and stick together.
If new to our group, please take the time to read our Ride Rating Guide, found at the link below.

All of our rides require a helmet and properly maintained mountain bike.
Riders should be sure to read the description of the ride fully prior to their RSVP. Rides will vary by location and organizer, so be sure to sign up for rides that are appropriate for your skill and fitness level. If unsure if an event is appropriate, contact the event host prior to the event. If you have an existing medical condition please consult your doctor prior to joining an event.
Meetup.com and West Coast Mountain Bikers do not allow minors to attend events. We will occasionally make exceptions, so long as the parent is also in attendance.
The event host and organizers ultimately have the last call on who can and cannot attend a particular event. When a members safety is concerned we will always err on the side of caution.
