Ouray Via Ferrata

Let us climb the Ouray Via Ferrata. You will need gear for this.

• Minimum Required Equipment on the Ouray Via Ferrata include:
• EN958 Certified Via Ferrata Energy Absorbing System (EAS)
• EN12492 Certified Helmet – Mountaineering
• EN 12277 Certified Harness – Mountaineering
• Use of non-certified or improvised equipment may result in death or serious injury
• Gloves, boots and water are also recommended
• Lanyard for camera or phone. If dropped the river owns the device.

Gear can be found in town at several outdoor shops. I am not a guide and I do not bring any addition equipment to assist others. The via ferrata require some climbing skills. If inexperience the town has guides available from several shops. Via Ferrata is fun, but requires rock climbing skills and to be comfortable high on the sides of cliffs. People coming on this event are expected to be responsible for themselves. Being clipped in will help to protect people on the route, but there is the possibility of falling with the possibility of serious injury or death.

Take 550 south from Ouray. Just after the first switchback turn right on the dirt road. At the first switch back on the dirt road park. We will meet at the switch back before the bridge.
