WARNING: The bulk of this hike will be off-trail.
End time is required by Meetup - so I just make up a time.

We'll go exploring in the Palisade Wilderness Study Area - across from 6 3/10 Rd (down almost at Gateway).

The hike will start along a two-track road and then continue as an explore up a couple of drainages with some uphill ridge/rock scrambling to get a nice view of the La Sals. Strenuous. The bulk of the hike will be off-trail.

Expect about an 8 mile hike depending on how far back we get in the side canyons. We will see some interesting rock formations.
Dogs used to rock scrambling and willing to be lifted are welcome.

We'll be aiming to mostly repeat the hike done on 2/20/22

Important Note: This is a participate at your own risk event! Hiking/Biking/Kayaking/Skiing/Climbing/Driving is risky. Every year people are hurt or killed because they go beyond their abilities, get lost or bring the wrong gear. Off-trail hiking adds an extra level of risk. Driving to and from the trailhead near Gateway is a fair distance and involves highway and narrow road driving. Driving is risky. This is a meetup event, meaning I am not a hired, professional guide or instructor for this event. I am organizing the event not leading it. You are responsible for yourself in this peer-to-peer platform of events, you need to have enough experience to be self sufficient.
