Gibbler Rim hike
Details
WARNING: The bulk of this hike will be off-trail.
End time is required by Meetup - so I just make up a time.
We'll head up Divide Road off Hwy 141 for a hike within Dominguez-Escalante Ntl Conservation Area (D-E NCA).
The hike will be about 8 miles in a lollipop loop. There will be some hiking on roads (currently seasonally closed to motorized visitors) but most of the hike will be off-trail.
We'll be hiking mostly along the rim of Gibbler Gulch (and its forks) with some sections of hiking within the canyon.
Forecast is predicting warm weather but also wind gusts of 30 mph. Secure your hats! LOL.
Please bring spare shoes to change into after the hike, in case our boots get muddy.
Dogs: well-behaved, friendly dogs that are good at avoiding cactus are welcome.
Ride sharing: please be kind and offer money for gas to the driver.
Important Note: This is a participate at your own risk event! Hiking/Biking/Kayaking/Skiing/Climbing/Driving is risky. Off-trail hiking adds an extra level of risk.
