Hi there!
I've set this group up to create events related to storytelling & writing. Expect discussions on visual storytelling, a hub for ideas to be exchanged and a space for people to find their people across the storytelling spectrum.
See my first event below that has been setup to hear specific generational thoughts on the current state of visual storytelling, which I will be using to enhance a production proposal package for a TV show I am wanting to get developed:

Do you have passionate views about the current state of visual storytelling (TV, Film and Reels)? Particularly what you'd like to see more of and any elements you strongly dislike?
I’m Josh - a 42 year old developing writer, and I'm currently in the final stages of a production proposal package for a TV Show I would like to take to market. As part of the package I have included my views on why the story I am wanting to tell is timed well for the current landscape, but as a final research piece I would like to hear wider views from generations outside my own.
In this instance I’m targeting Gen Z, specifically 18 - 29 year olds.
Structure
- Welcome & Introduction - A quick welcome to the group and informal opportunity for everyone to introduce themselves.
- Discussion Topic Statements - Following the introduction, I will move the group through several preprepared statements relating to the current state of visual media for the group to then discuss.
- Questions to the Group - I’ll ask the attendees specific questions that have been both preprepared and generated by views expressed in the prior round (if not already covered)
- Open Floor - For the final section, I will open things up to the floor for any further views and thoughts to be expressed.
Once enough interest and noted attendance has been generated, I will provide the statements and questions I would like to cover in advance. This will allow time for you to consider these elements unrushed, though I do encourage you to let your thoughts flow freely within the discussion.
Treat this as a safe place as if chatting with your friends by setting yourself up to feel as comfortable as possible - have a coffee ready, glass of wine or whatever your vibe may be - ease in and let’s chat visual storytelling!
If the session feels like a hit, I may look to structure something regular that is more general.
How the information you share will be used
- Any shared views may be used to enhance my production proposal package through consideration of generational sentiments
- Participants will not be quoted or identifiable
- Should an unexpected circumstance arise that means quoting or making someone identifiable, specific permission will be requested first

House Rules & Further Info
- 18+ only
- Any gender welcome
- Camera & name optional - aliases for anonymity are welcome. Note that I will use my real name and have my camera on for transparency
- Group session only - no private breakouts
- No requirement to disclose personal information
- No default recording - I will take notes (handwritten) specific to expressed views with no names recorded
- Any one acting inappropriately will be removed from the session
- You are welcome to leave anytime.
