Enjoy witty comedies and uplifting movies? Like them in the cinema? With an optional drink and chat afterwards? Then this is your group :-)
The movies: A broad range of witty or heart-warming films. From clever to sweet, from indie and arthouse to mainstream, from classics and hidden gems to fresh finds — but always with style. Art and culture in the form of good movies ;-) Usually original-language versions with subtitles. Days, times, and cinemas vary.
After the movie, those who feel like go somewhere nearby for a drink and a relaxed after-movie chat. Since there are not just movie nights but also daytime screenings, coffee and café lovers as well as cold drinks enthusiasts all get their chance ;-) You don’t need to be a chatty person to come along; introverts are just as welcome as anyone else. We speak English or German, or whatever works for you at the time.
This is a friendly, respectful, international group. We welcome long-time Berlin locals as well as those new in town, Germans and expats alike. The group is set to the "private group" mode so that our profile photos are hidden. This group is not about looks. We’re only admitting friendly people who enjoy movies and socializing. not those who are mainly interested in meeting someone with a pretty profile photo. After joining, all members’ profiles are visible so you can see who comes to an event. This is a proper old-school Meetup group — it’s non-commercial, not run professionally, just to share some fun, meet new people and maybe make new friends. The group is new and it could use some more members to get started. So if you’re interested, we’re happy to have you on board. You can always leave again if you don’t like it :-)
The exact movie events details come out about every Thursday, when the cinemas have published their screenings for the week.

When you request to join, please answer a few short questions about what draws you to the group. This is to make sure everyone in the group shares the same interests in movies and contributes to a friendly atmosphere. One of the questions is about witty or heart-warming movies you’ve enjoyed. They can be anything from old classics to more recent films, famous or not, liked by many or few. If you don't know the titles, just tell us bits of the plots or who’s in there. If there's a match, you're in :-)

Du magst gute Komödien und andere Feel-good-Filme? Gerne auch im Kino? Danach vielleicht noch mit ein paar netten Leuten was trinken gehen? Dann ist das hier genau Deine Gruppe :-)
Die Filme: ein breites Spektrum von Humor bis Herz. Von schlau bis charmant, von Indie-Filmen und Arthouse bis Mainstream, von Klassikern und Raritäten zu brandneuen Entdeckungen — aber immer mit Stil. Kunst und Kultur in Form von guten Filmen ;-) Normalerweise OmU’s. Tage, Uhrzeiten und Kinos sind immer unterschiedlich.
Wer Lust hat, geht nach dem Film noch mit, in der Nähe was trinken. Und weil es nicht nur Abend- sondern auch Tages-Vorstellungen gibt, kommen sowohl Café-Fans als auch Freunde gepflegter Kaltgetränke auf ihre Kosten. Du musst dafür nicht besonders gesprächig sein; Introvertierte sind genauso willkommen wie alle anderen. Wir sprechen Englisch oder Deutsch — oder was sonst für Dich funktioniert.
Dies ist eine freundliche und respektvolle, internationale Gruppe, offen sowohl für Locals als auch für Neuzugezogene, ob Expats oder aus Deutschland. Die Gruppe ist auf den Modus „Private Gruppe“ gesetzt, damit man unsere Profilfotos nicht sehen kann, weil es in dieser Gruppe nicht ums Aussehen geht. Aufgenommen werden Leute, die gerne ins Kino gehen und nette Menschen treffen möchten, nicht solche, die nur jemanden mit hübschem Profilfoto kennenlernen wollen. Nach dem Beitritt sind alle Profile sichtbar und man kann sehen, wer sich für welchen Film angemeldet hat. Wir sind eine echte old-school Meetup-Gruppe — nicht kommerziell, sondern um gemeinsam etwas zu unternehmen und neue Leute kennenzulernen. Die Gruppe ist neu und könnte als „Starthilfe“ noch neue Mitglieder gebrauchen. Also bei Interesse gerne einfach beitreten :-)
Die genauen Infos zu den Filmevents kommen immer ungefähr donnerstags, sobald die Kinos ihr Wochenprogramm veröffentlicht haben.
Jeder kauft sein eigenes Kinoticket.
Wenn Du eine Beitrittsanfrage stellst, beantworte bitte ein paar kurze Fragen dazu, was Dich an der Gruppe anspricht. So stellen wir sicher, dass alle hier ein Interesse an ähnlichen Filmen haben und zur freundlichen Atmosphäre beitragen. Eine der Fragen ist, welche Komödien oder Feel-Good-Filme Dir gefallen haben. Das kann alles Mögliche sein: Klassiker oder neuere Filme, bekannt oder eher unbekannt. Wenn Dir die Titel nicht einfallen, schreib einfach ein bisschen über die Handlung oder wer mitspielt. Wenn es dann passt, bist Du dabei :-)
