Who’s Coming:
• Julie Dunham (Summit Life Adventures): Arrives Thursday to secure a site, stays Friday and Saturday nights.
• John Sutton: Arrives Thursday after dropping Frances at the airport, bringing Daisy (leashed dog).
• Andrea Archer & Rick Morley: Arrive Wednesday, August 6, leave Saturday, August 9. They’ll kayak Thursday morning to avoid afternoon wind/rain. Rick welcomes tent campers on their site (they share a camper) but prefers a separate main group site for quiet.
• Regina Pacis: Day visit only (any day, Thursday–Sunday); prefers not to drive and will chip in for gas and fees.
Activities:
• Kayaking (weather permitting; bring your own gear).
• Fishing (bring license and gear).
• Campfire (bring firewood).
Important Notes:
• Arrive early: Check-out is noon; meadow sites (farthest from the road) go fast.
• Quiet hours: 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. (strictly enforced; eviction possible).
• Dogs: Must be leashed. If your dog barks around others, leave it home.
• Sites: First-come, first-served; no saving for others. An extra $10 may apply for early site claims.
• Supplies: Bring your own gear and food.
• Cell service: Limited; text John Sutton at 719-351-7913 before August 6 with questions.
Tips: Arrive near check-out (noon) for the best first-come, first-served sites. Meadow campsites are ideal for quieter, scenic spots. Expect a typical National Forest campground experience—perfect for our group to gather quietly for a campfire!
