Royal Dinner & Movie Night at Frances Farr’s with Coronation Chicken and Esther. Join Us for a Regal Evening of Dining & Esther. Join us for a Dinner & Movie night at Frances Farr’s house on Sunday, September 7, starting at 4:44 PM. We’ll pray and dine at 5:15 PM. John and Frances will provide Coronation Chicken; please bring a side or salad to share. Water bottles and sparkling red grape juice in glass goblets will be served. WHO WILL BE CROWNED? Dress in your finest royal attire for a chance to win a crown for the most beautiful princess. We invite all women to participate in our Queen Contest by dressing as a princess, wearing at least two costume pieces. Each participant will receive a Christian symbolic necklace (options: Jesus, Peace, Blessed, WWJD, Faith, or Grace) to keep just for entering. Men present will vote based on costume, presentation, enthusiasm, and charisma—not beauty. The top three (winner, first runner-up, second runner-up) will be chosen. The winners wears a tiara for the day. Each winner also receives a 5x7 photo print. (birthday girls will have their own crown) Bring individual 7.5 oz non-alcoholic sodas for variety. Gold table runners and gold and white plastic bowls will set the scene. Before the movie, we’ll enjoy birthday cake for: Wendy Thompson (Aug 18), Elaine Wolf (Aug 30), Kendra Johnson (Aug 31), Venus Kadir Nahid (Sept 4). We will have a vote, between two Ester movies, (2006) One night with The King or (2013) The Book of Esther. We will watch the winning movie. Esther, a Jewish woman who becomes queen of Persia and risks her life to save her people from Haman’s plot. Raised by Mordecai, she exposes the scheme, leading to Haman’s execution and the Jews’ protection. We’ll wrap up by 9:30 PM.
