Homestead Movie Follow-Up and Survival Ethics Discussion!

Details
Join Us for a Homestead-Inspired Dinner and Homestead Reflection. Thursday, September 25: Homestead Follow-Up Discussion at Frances Farr’s House! Join us arriving by 5:55 PM for prayer and dinner at 6:15 p.m. Frances and John will lead a follow-up to the Homestead movie, diving into the elephant in the room with a Homestead-inspired gathering. Frances and John will serve a taste of freeze dried meals to sample what they would taste like featuring a breakfast skillet with hash browns and scrambled eggs mixed with pork sausage patties, peppers, and onions, alongside biscuits served with pork patty crumble gravy. For dinners, savor a hearty chili mac made with spicy beef chili sauce, macaroni, and beans, complemented by rice paired with tender chicken, and a rich beef stroganoff. Bring salads, sides, or 7.5-ounce sodas to share. We’ll explore long-shelf-life foods like rice, dried beans, honey, sugar, salt, vinegar, pasta, soy sauce, and coconut oil, while discussing the prepper mindset, survival ethics, and faith in crises. Topics include balancing charity with self-preservation, the “ark vs. fortress” dilemma, and community meals’ role in resilience. Questions: How do you balance charity and survival? Is the compound an ark or fortress? Is violence justified? Can faith strengthen us in crises? At 7:15 p.m., teaching begins, followed by your stories and discussions, and Honey-Sweetened Rice Pudding & Coconut Oil Shortbread Cookies at 8:15 p.m., ending by 9:30 p.m. Text John at 719-351-7913 or Frances at 541-219-2713 for the address and gate code.
