Chinese New Year Feast & Faith-Filled Films. Sunday Gathering: Potstickers, Scripture Cookies & Red Envelopes.
Join us Sunday, March 1, celebrate the end of the Lunar New Year at Frances Farr’s home in Flying Horse appropriate for a festive Chinese New Year Dinner and Movie Night. You are encouraged to wear red reinterpreting Christ's blood, salvation & forgiveness. Arrive by 4:44 PM to settle in. We’ll pray and eat at 5:15 PM. Frances and John will provide authentic Chinese dishes: pork potstickers and white rice. Please bring Chinese food, salad, side, snack, or individual cans of sparkling water (no sugar or fake sugar) to share—water bottles will be provided. No desserts, please. Before the movie, enjoy scripture cookies. Every child at heart will receive a red envelope with scripture and chocolate coins! At 6:45 PM, we’ll preview two uplifting films and play the best one: Home Beyond the Sun (2004 Drama, 1h 36m, 6.5/10) about an American teacher and a Chinese orphan overcoming hardship through faith in God, and Hudson Taylor (Drama, 6.9/10), a fact-based account of the Christian missionary’s early Shanghai ministry. The evening wraps up around 9:30 PM. This is a dry gathering—no alcohol. Text John at (719) 351-7913 or Frances at (541) 219-2713 for the address and gate code. All are welcome—hope to see you for a joyful celebration!
