Tuesday Trail Trek: Pulpit Rock Hike & Curator-Led Tour
Join us Tuesday, May 12, 9:15 AM for a Free Hike & Private Tour! Experience a unique guided walkthrough of the historic Heller Center with Curator Rhonda Goodman-Gaghan, followed by a scenic hike to the summit of Pulpit Rock for 360° views of Pikes Peak. The Event Guide
9:15 AM | Gathering: Allen will facilitate the meetup at the Heller Center for Arts & Humanities parking area.
9:30 AM | Private Tour: Rhonda Goodman-Gaghan, Assistant Director and Curator, will lead a guided tour of the center.
10:15 AM | Hike Initiation: The group will begin an approximate 3-mile loop toward the Pulpit Rock summit.
12:00 PM | Closing: The group will conclude the trek and return to the trailhead.
Logistics & Directions:
• Location: Heller Center, 1250 North Campus Heights, Colorado Springs, CO 80918.
• Driving Directions: Located ½ mile off N. Nevada Ave, across from Trader Joe's. Turn into North Campus Heights and follow signs to the Heller parking area.
• Trail Details: The path includes a 280-ft elevation gain with some loose rock and steep inclines near the summit.
• Facilities: Closest restrooms are located at Trader Joe’s or the ENT Center.
Guest Requirements:
• Flexibility: Hikers may move at their own pace; the total duration is approximately 2 hours.
• Gear: Please bring adequate water and wear sturdy, closed-toe hiking footwear.
• Pet Policy: Dogs are welcome but must remain on a leash at all times.
• Reflection: "For you shall go out in joy and be led forth in peace; the mountains and the hills before you shall break forth into singing" (Isaiah 55:12).
