What we’re about
This is a meetup to gather impact investors and impact investing practitioners who care about systemic change in the Bay Area. We will sometimes gather just among impact investors, and sometimes overlay this meetup with gatherings that mix social enterprises from our visionaries and revolutionaries community, and our hiking to the next level up community with the impact investing community. But this meetup in particular is for impact investors who want the social enterprises they invest in to be a part of whole outcomes that can be created. This means that sometimes social enterprises will need to work in portfolios of mutually reinforcing impact. Sometimes social enterprises can cause a specific outcome or impact. But this meetup is partially oriented around the idea that "magic bullet" investing where only a single approach solves a whole problem does not address wicked problems. In order for impact investing to address and solve intractable problems, whole outcome investing is needed in which networks of individuals, social enterprises, social innovations, and institutions deliver what is needed for an impact.
