Why Guru? — Weekly Conversation

One reading, one conversation, once a week.

Nothing to prepare. Each week we sit with the day's Hukamnama — a passage from Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji, taken as it falls — and talk about where it lands. As the group grows, we'll start the Basics of Sikhi "Why Guru?" video series together.

The hour: a few minutes of quiet simran to open, the day's Hukamnama, a round of introductions (every week, so nobody's ever the new person), then open conversation. We close with simran.

Who it's for: anyone spiritually curious. Sikh or not, any faith or none. No background or belief needed, just a question.

Homework, always the same two things: bring one question, and bring one person if you like (optional).

Zoom, about an hour. Cameras optional.

Sessions are recorded and edited highlights are shared on YouTube and social media. You'll only appear if you say yes on the night. Prefer not to? Camera off, rename yourself to initials, and you won't be in anything we publish. You can change your mind anytime.
