About us
We create opportunities for Wichita-area data professionals to meet one another, share ideas, and spur each other on. We welcome professionals who work with data, students who study data, and those who are interested in data. We hold panel discussions and presentations roughly 4 to 6 times per year.

AI Superusers: Deciding What to Build w/ AI & Building Shared Knowledge Systems
Newman University, 3100 McCormick St, Wichita, KS, USThis one's for the AI superusers: the folks already building with these tools and pushing on what they can actually do. Two topics, three presenters.
Two questions run underneath the whole session: what's genuinely worth building with AI? And once you're building, how do you keep people and their agents working from the same page?First up: Planning a New AI Product: Deciding What Not to Build, What to Build, and How to Build It Well
With AI, you can build almost anything now. The hard part isn't the building; it's deciding what's worth building, and not falling into the trap of building just to build. Tanner Norris has been working out a framework for exactly that and putting it to use at INTRUST: telling the red herrings from the ideas that actually drive value, and keeping AI pointed at the long-term vision instead of wandering off. He'll walk us through it in about 15 minutes. Then: Building Shareable Knowledge Management Systems for Context-Informed Collaboration Between Humans and Their Agents
The more of our work runs through AI agents, the more everything comes down to context. An agent only knows what it can reach. Rob Dickson (Wichita Public Schools) and Nic Wentling (Moonbase Labs) get into building knowledge systems that people and their agents share, so the context is common ground instead of something you re-explain every single time.As always, the presentations are just the kickoff. The best part is the Q&A and the conversation that follows. If you haven't sat in on one of our discussions yet, you're missing out!

AI Users Group: Kickoff Meeting
Newman University, 3100 McCormick St, Wichita, KS, USπ Calling All AI Curious! The "Normie" AI Users Group Is Meeting at Newman University!
Have you been hearing about AI everywhere but aren't sure where to start? Tried ChatGPT once or twice and thought, "Okay⦠now what?" Then this meeting is made for YOU.
π When: Tuesday July 28th
π Time: 6:00 β 7:30 PM
π Where: Newman University BGSC 104
(Superusers meet earlier from 4:00 β 5:30 PM β but the evening session is all about beginners!)Wait β what's a "Normie"?
A "normie" is a regular person β not a programmer, not a tech guru β who's just starting to explore AI. And honestly? It's the best label you can have right now. Normies are the fresh eyes. You haven't picked up bad habits, you ask the questions everyone else is too embarrassed to ask, and you represent the vast majority of people who will actually use AI in everyday life and work. Every expert was a normie once β the only difference is they started. This is your start. What's on the agenda?
π€ "Do More" β presented by Scott Person. Scott will take us on a journey into either AI and robots or Hermes and data organization β either way, you'll walk away with ideas you can actually use. (Come find out which one it'll be!) π¬ AI Learning Resources β discussion facilitated by Rob Martin. Where do you actually go to learn this stuff? We'll share the best free courses, videos, newsletters, and tools for people just getting started β and you'll leave with a real learning roadmap. This is a HANDS-ON meeting! π»
Don't just watch β do! Bring your laptop and bring your questions. Members of the Super User Group will be on hand all evening to sit down with you, troubleshoot, and help you get unstuck. No question is too basic. Seriously. Ask the "dumb" question β five other people in the room are wondering the same thing.Who should come?
- You've never used AI but you're curious
- You've dabbled but want to do more
- You want to meet other beginners (you're in good company!)
- You learn best by trying things with friendly people nearby
No experience required. No jargon allowed. Just curiosity. Bring your computer, bring your questions, bring a friend β and let's figure this AI thing out together!
