Adventurous Paddle Stoney Creek with Lunch at Stoney Creek Inn
Details
Adventurous Paddles: These paddle will be 8 plus miles, in more challenging water with possible waves/chop. This paddle will require at least a 12-foot boat with 2 sealed bulkheads. People who sign up for this trip should have some experience with choppy water and waves.
We will meet at the Greenhaven Wharf right on Stoney Creek. We will paddle upstream first to explore the headwaters and some coves/fingers. It does get a little tight and shallow at times, so just a heads up. Once we are done exploring, we will head downstream to where the it gets wider and more developed. We will stop for lunch at the Stoney Creek Inn which has been highlighted on that TV Food show called Dinners and Dives (I think that is the name). They have some yummy food!!! Then we will paddle out to where Stoney Creek joins the Patapsco River and then head back.
Remember that 10:30 is the on the water time. Please plan on being there by at least 10:00 am to unload and get your gear ready.
ALL PARTICIPANTS MUST WEAR A PFD AND BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THEIR OWN PERSONAL SAFETY. Due to the temperatures, cold weather gear is required.
You must have your own equipment and kayak for this paddle. The Organizers and Event Hosts of Wicked Fun Kayakers look out for our paddlers, but we are not trained experts in rescuing paddlers. All trips are organized by volunteers who are experienced kayakers but not professionals or qualified rescue experts. You are responsible for your own personal safety.
