About us
This meetup is for people who are interested in conservation of wild public lands, hiking, and volunteer projects such as restoration.
Wild Connections protects and restores wild nature and public lands across the watersheds of the Arkansas and South Platte Rivers in central Colorado. We recognize these as the ancestral lands of the Ute, Cheyenne, Arapaho and other indigenous peoples.
Connecting Wildernesses and roadless areas in a landscape-wide wildlands network across the central Rockies benefits migratory animals, rare plant communities, clean water resources for urban and mountain communities , local economies, quiet recreation, historic and cultural locations, scenic vistas and spiritual values.

Fountain Creek Hike
Location not specified yetNote, this hike has limited space and is posted on multiple forums so you MUST contact the trip leader, Jim, directly by phone or e-mail to register.
Join us for a hike along the Fountain Creek Regional Trail at Clear Springs Ranch Open Space south of Fountain Colorado. Clear Spring Ranch is a 930-acre linear park situated along Fountain Creek south of the City of Fountain, which features a variety of habitat types, including riparian, grassland and foothill ecosystems, as well as agricultural land.
Learn how our stream corridors serve wildlife and aquatic life, and about the problems posed by erosion along the creek.
This easy hike will be approximately 4 miles roundtrip with almost zero elevation gain. Bring water, raingear, and clothing suitable for the weather conditions. A carpool from Colorado Springs will be arranged.
For more hike information and to register, contact Jim Lockhart, 719-385-0045 or jlock@datawest.net.
