About us
This meetup is for people who are interested in conservation of wild public lands, hiking, and volunteer projects such as restoration.
Wild Connections protects and restores wild nature and public lands across the watersheds of the Arkansas and South Platte Rivers in central Colorado. We recognize these as the ancestral lands of the Ute, Cheyenne, Arapaho and other indigenous peoples.
Connecting Wildernesses and roadless areas in a landscape-wide wildlands network across the central Rockies benefits migratory animals, rare plant communities, clean water resources for urban and mountain communities , local economies, quiet recreation, historic and cultural locations, scenic vistas and spiritual values.

Chubb Park Volunteer Fence Removal Project Day 1
Location not specified yetNote, this event is posted on multiple forums so you must contact the project coordinator, John, directly by phone or e-mail to register.
Join Wild Connections the second weekend in July for a volunteer fence-removal project at Chubb Park State Trust Land and State Wildlife Area, located off Trout Creek Pass in northern Chaffee County below the Buffalo Peaks Wilderness.
We are partnering with Colorado Parks and Wildlife and local ranchers to remove approximately 4.5 miles of barbed wire fence, helping improve habitat connectivity and reduce hazards for wildlife in the area.
No experience is necessary—all are welcome! Wild Connections will provide tools, gloves, drinks, and snacks. Volunteers are encouraged to join us for one or both days. Reserved camping will be available for volunteers on Saturday night, July 11.
Sorry, no dogs allowed. A carpool or caravan from Colorado Springs will be coordinated.
