Forage and Feast
Tantre Farm, 2510 Hayes Road, Chelsea, MI, USPlant walks are great, but what do you do with stuff once you get it home? This class is designed to teach you exactly that. We will go out and forage for about an hour, then we will bring our harvest into the kitchen where we will combine it with previously foraged items (from my stash), farm fresh ingredients, and some grocery store staples to make a gourmet meal that we will share. (Note: the class starts at 6, but we need to harvest and prep. We won’t actually eat until 8 or 830, so have a snack before you come.)
Our meal will include an appetizer, a main dish, 2-3 sides, a desert, and both an alcoholic and a non-alcoholic beverage, all made with wild ingredients. Pleae note any dietary restrictions when you register. Bring your harvesting basket if you have one. It will also be helpful if you bring your favorite kitchen knife and a kitchen towel. You may want a notebook to jot down recipes as we go. And you will definitely need a couple of containers, because I make tons of food. So there are always lots of leftovers for everyone to take home.
Sliding Scale: $75-125. Spots are limited. Prepay at https://www.willforageforfood.com/store/p/forage-and-feast

Edible and Medicinal Plant Walk
Tantre Farm, 2510 Hayes Road, Chelsea, MI, USPlant walks are excellent learning opportunities for those with beginning to intermediate foraging skills, and for anyone wishing to increase their knowledge of the local flora. Our discussion will include information about identification, methods of sustainable harvest, preparation, and use. We will explore the area and chose around 20-25 edible, medicinal, or otherwise useful plants and mushrooms to focus on.
These walks are intended for adults, but kids are welcome to accompany parents. Kids under 12 are free with paid adult. Walks are almost never cancelled due to weather (one time in 16 years), so dress accordingly. We will be mostly on trails, no need to dress for bushwhacking. You may want to bring a notebook, camera, and water. No other gear is required.
When you get to the meeting location, look for a smallish middle aged lady with long hair and a smallish, black dog.
$25 per person. Cash or prepay at https://www.willforageforfood.com/store/p/walks2 attendees
