We will spend the day learning about plants and mushrooms, and how to identify them. We will start with a lecture-style class that will cover some of the basic vocab and anatomy you will need to know. Then we will break for lunch, followed by a plant/mushroom walk to collect specimens. The remainder of the afternoon will be spent working hands on with a variety of keys and field guides, practicing ID skills.
This class won’t focus on how to identify any specific species, although you undoubtedly will learn some of that. Instead the goal will be to learn skills, not individual organisms. You would learn how to look at the plants and the mushrooms, and what sorts of things to look for. And you will learn how to use things like apps, field guides, and most importantly, keys to identify what you found. The coolest thing about this class is that once you learn these skills, you will be able to apply them to anything. Not just plants and mushrooms, but also insects and fish and birds and algae and anything else you might want to identify.

Class size is limited. Pre-registration is required. Go to https://www.willforageforfood.com/store/p/idclass to reserve your spot
