What we’re about
Want to reconnect with Earth, eat healthy, get exercise, learn new skills, and meet great people? This is a group for folks interested in sharing knowledge on foraging and living from the land. All skill levels and ages are welcome. We hold a variety of classes for our members. The topics of these classes are chosen based on member interest and range from edible and medicinal plant walks to mushroom growing to cooking classes to tanning and primitive tool making. Fees for these classes will vary.
Due to the nature of our activities, some of our events are held in areas that are not accessible to those with limited mobility. This will be noted in the event description. We never want to exclude anyone from classes due to cost, so if you cannot afford the fee please contact the instructor to discuss barter or work study.

Want to try a new culinary experience? Been wanting to use wild foods in your everyday meals, but you're nervous and not sure how? This camp will be a one-of-its-kind hands-on experience for those who want to learn by doing. All meals, from Friday dinner to Sunday breakfast will be part of the curriculum in which you will be able to use wild ingredients in various recipes including main dishes, sides, breads, beverages, and desserts. You will learn many ways to cook and enjoy wild plants by actually foraging for ingredients and using them in various recipes. Between our forays and cooking classes, we will discuss plant and mushroom ID, toxic plants and mushrooms, and resources for learning about edible wild foods. You will also learn how to preserve nature's abundance, because preserving your harvest is a big part of learning to forage.
