Intro

Would like to take this opportunity to wish you all the very best of health during these interesting times and wish that you are having a fabulous Summer so far.

It's been ages since the Commoners have held a restaurant event so thought it would be a great idea to host the first in ages in one of our favourite locations - Wimbledon Village, a very pleasant location to hang out.

Will endeavour to be outside Cote from about 6.25pm and given that some of you may be rushing from work do let me know in advance through the message board if you'll likely be running a bit late.

Cóte's establishment will charm you with its modern decor and continental vibes. The starters and mains are great and all those who have been here before will agree that the deserts are to die for and the menu overall offers good value.

Covid

If you have not received the two vaccines, or if you are feeling unwell or have a cough or cold please be considerate and do not attend.

Deposit

Owing to 'no-shows' in the past and to reduce these I hope you do not mind me asking for an advance £3 deposit to be paid via my bank account (once you've RSVP'd I will provide you with my bank details).

Of the £3 deposit, a £2 contribution will go towards paying Meetup fees (yes, sadly Meetup isn't free and do charge Organisers every six months a healthy sum of money) and the other £1 will be returned to you on the evening. PLEASE KINDLY NOTE that if you cancel and cannot make this event for whatever reason the deposit is non-refundable. As a matter of courtesy please still let me know that you are unable to attend. The deposit system has worked successfully for the previous restaurant meetups with a near 100 percent attendance.

Although this has never happened in well over 100 Meetups that I have hosted, in the likely event that this meetup cannot go ahead and has to be cancelled, the full deposit of £3 will be refunded to your account.

FOR THOSE ATTENDING PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING:

Please make payment ASAP of the deposit - this must be received by Saturday 4 September. Failure to leave a deposit and respond to requests may lead to you being removed altogether from the guest list. Should you have an issue with the payment method please get in touch.

We will all need to pay towards Cote's service charge at the end of the evening which I believe is about 15%. Would ask that everyone kindly keep a written note of the food that they order alongside a tally of the cost plus 15%. This assists me when we work out the final bill at the end of the evening.

My reservation is for EIGHT people. There is a Waiting List and I may call the restaurant to see if they can POSSIBLY accommodate one or two people.

Please, if you are on the Waiting List please DO NOT ASSUME that attendance is automatic or confirmed until I have notified you of this and that I have received the deposit. If you have RSVP'd on the main list but haven't paid the deposit, and haven't been in touch with me to explain why, you are likely to be moved off the list completely.

Only RSVP and leave a deposit if you know that you can attend. But please don't RSVP too late owing to the limited number of places for the group.

Please do not turn up to the restaurant unannounced and with prior agreement and you're not on the list.

My sincere apologies for the above terms, but I hope that you will understand that I have hosted quite a number of meetups, and there have been on previous occasions 'no shows' with half of RSVP attendees not turning up.

Please note that this Meetup might be subject to changes, including the cost of the dinner that is above and beyond my control but do check out the cost of the food on Cote's website.
