Sailing Week - Tuscan Archipeligo

Concept:
Charter an approximately 40’ monohull sailing yacht for one week to gain miles and experience at sailing larger boats on open water in a relaxed manner.

Who is this suitable for:

• Current dinghy sailors who would like to gain some experience in larger boats on the sea.
• Those wishing to gain miles and experience for their Coastal/Offshore sailing Certificate (Swiss Hochsee Schein, Coastal Skipper, Yachtmaster Coastal, Yachtmaster Offshore)

Since I do not hold a commercial skipper's license you should have at least basic sailing experience to join this trip. It is being run on a cost sharing basis. I do hold a license to skipper the boat we will charter for pleasure purposes and I have skippered about 1500NM in this area in the last couple of years.

Crew Size:
4 - 5 including skipper

RSVP's show up as being closed for this event. If you are interested in joining, please send me a private message. You should also join us on one of our summer sailing evenings on lake Zug. For safety reasons, we should have sailed together at least once before this trip.

Location:
The Tuscan Archipelago is very well suited for this trip. The Islands of Capria, Elba and Giglo provide harbours and anchorages that are sheltered from all wind directions and the ability to get from place to place with relatively short legs.

Cost:
Costs are split between the group members.

Costs will be in the region of 1500 Euro per person depending on boat size and cabin availability. This is an approximate cost based on a 40’ yacht with an occupancy of 4 people and the price may be a little more or less depending on the final cost of the yacht charter.

There will be comfortable space for 4 people on the boat, if two people don't mind sharing a room then we can take 5. Currently only four spaces are available, I'll open a fifth should the situation arise where two people don't mind sharing.

Costs will include:

• Yacht Charter
• Cleaning Fees
• Damage Waiver for boat (if available)
• Outboard Motor for the Dinghy
• Marina Fees
• Shopping for food etc. on the boat
• Diesel for the boat

Costs do not include, travel to and from the charter base, parking at the charter base, food eaten in any restaurants visited ashore, any personal shopping ashore, alcoholic beverages or miscellaneous costs not listed above.

Payment:
I will look for an approximate 80% payment at the time of reservation (Bank Transfer). The remaining 20% will cover the onboard costs (shopping, marina fees, fuel, extras for the boat etc) and can be paid at the start of the trip.

Alcohol
No alcohol should be consumed when underway. A beer or wine when at anchor or in harbour are of course no problem, but excess should be avoided.

If we take a dinghy ashore to a restaurant in the evening, please keep any alcohol in moderation to ensure a safe dinghy ride back to the boat in the dark.

It is your responsibility to make sure your equipment is maintained and in safe working order. I reserve the right to stop you from participating with us if your equipment is badly maintained or not in safe working order.
