Homeless Clothing and Food Drive/ Distribution Event

Hi all,
I wanted to host something for getting waterproof and warm winter clothing items and food together and distributing it to people in need in San Francisco this winter season. Is this doable? Would love any support from the community. I guess this would be a clothing and food drive. Please comment any date/ time preferences, etc.
