About us
Winterton Hound Ground is a Dog paddock which you can hire for 30 mins or 1 hour to allow your dogs to have off-leash enjoyment in a safe and secure location.
We are on the East coast, located just to the South of the Village of Winterton-on-Sea and as there are only two roads in and out of Winterton, we are easy to find. We have private off-road ground re-enforced parking right outside the Hound Ground where there is also toilet facilities and due to the marvelous invention ‘electricity’ we have illuminations, so we are open all year round, all 52 weeks or 365 days a year (366 if it’s a leap year). There is a ramp at the entrance gate that is wide enough to allow access for wheelchairs users so they can see their paws having a safe fun run.
Winterton Hound Ground is the pawfect place to let your four-legged friend or friends run around unrestrained, playing, sniffing, exploring, learning, jumping, rolling, and doing what they do best, all in complete safety and all breeds of paws are welcome.
You will feel comfortable and at ease within our 1 acre field with the 1.8m secure fencing (complete with skirting to foil the archaeological diggers or escape artists) regardless of whether your canine friend is reactive, has the recall of a house brick, or just wants to burn off and release the excess energy they always seem to accumulate and store!
Come and enjoy the peace of the local countryside whilst watching your four-legged friend play freely; although should you feel the need to run around, chase balls and roll on the ground uncontrollably yourself, then we would not dream of denying you that pleasure. Bring your own toys if you wish but there is a good selection of toys and obstacles available. Water, water bowls and towels are also readily available, so you only need to remember to bring your canine companion.
The unpredictable British weather will not spoil things as there are mature hedgerows and screening providing wind breaks and a Hooman Hut to shelter in where you can sit, have a drink (contributions via a Honesty Box)and charge your phone all whilst watching your bundle of fun, having fun!

Family Fun Summer Fayre & Dog Show
Winterton Hound Ground, NR29 4BX, Winterton-on-Sea, GB- Family Fun Summer Fayre with a Fun Dog Show in support of Guide Dogs for the Blind
- No limit to attendees - Bring your friends and family
- With admission and on-site car parking completely free, it’s going to be a fun day for all the family including the four-legged waggy tail members, that’s not to be missed!
- Emphasis will most definitely be on ‘FUN’
- Weather permitting, there will be a flypast by up to three locally based aircraft and there will be the incredible opportunity to enter a grand prize raffle to win a 40-minute experience flight in one of the aircraft
- Visitors will be able explore a fascinating exhibition of Vintage Military Vehicles and PC Callum will be present with his Official Police Car to answer questions and everyone will have the opportunity to get up close and explore the vehicle without being arrested!
- To amuse and occupy children there will be a live children's entertainment tent with the popular Crazy Corin promising magic, laughter, and games. A high-flying bungee trampoline and smashing fairground games will offer non-stop fun and there will also be interactive stalls to encourage their creative skills
- The main arena will come alive with an energetic performance by the talented youngsters from The Dance Base in Great Yarmouth, displaying a vibrant routine beautifully choreographed by Megan Wittering
- Of course, four-legged pawpals remain the stars of the show with a Fun Dog Show and an array of light-hearted, fun classes. All classes are £2 per entry with prizes ranging from bespoke hampers, £25, £15 and £10 Vouchers with the prize of the Reserve Best in Show being an overnight stay in a cabin with an outside hot tub and the Best in Show receiving a full days boat hire for up to 9 people.
- Adding to the atmosphere, will be Great Yarmouth's Harbour Radio 107.4FM who will be broadcasting live from the event throughout the day. The station will track the day as it unfolds, interview visitors, and provide summer soundtracks for everyone to enjoy whilst browsing the extensive 44 stalls of local craft, artisan, food and drink.
- This event is non-profit making and solely for raising funds for Guide Dogs for the Blind and even though sponsors have been secured for all the fun dog show classes, we need and would welcome general event sponsorship, be it via monetary or other donation means (sorry, spouses cannot be accepted as raffle prizes 🤦♀️) in exchange for advertising opportunities.
