WIP Creating Comics Online - Make perspectives work for you!

Details
Creating Comics is a monthly meetup, where we study the craft of drawn narratives with the goal of helping people create their own comics.
We have an exciting session presented by our guest speaker!
(This is an expanded version of the 30 November 2024 talk, "Putting perspective into perspective").
Figures versus backgrounds. One is full of life and fluidity, the other rulers and math, or so many artists believe. But what if I told you that perspective drawing doesn't have to revolve around a meticulously constructed grid? What if I told you that perspective tools can even enhance your figure drawing, no math needed? In this session, we're going to learn how perspective works at the most basic levels and how to use the fundamentals of perspective to bring depth any kind of drawing, even characters in a natural setting. We'll then expand upon that and talk about vanishing points, what they are, why they are, and how to use them without overburdening yourself. Finally, we'll talk about how perspective tools can help us position objects in space quickly. By the end of this session, you'll be ready to make perspective drawing work for you and not the other way around!
