Lunch for Homeless Young People Jan. 11th
Details
Help us provide lunch ingredients for our young people. We provide food support for homeless young people at the Bill Wilson Drop-in Center. The young men and women come for food, counseling, and a temporary place to sleep. (The food is distributed to the young people by the staff at the Center; we are not involved in this part.)
I will be out of town for a few days, so we will meet next on January 11th. A reminder that our sandwiches are either peanut butter and jelly, ham and cheese, or turkey and cheese, with mustard only - no mayo, no tuna. Many thanks! Our sandwiches need to stay fresh overnight in case the young people don't eat them right away.
This time we are bringing sandwiches (you make them) OR sandwich ingredients that the young people and staff can put together. Please bring us some of the following, packaged from the store... Desserts are welcome too! We plan for 15 young people (age 18 to 25). Bring what you can!
We need:
Sandwiches (cut in half, wrapped individually)
-- peanut butter and jelly on white bread OR
-- ham and cheese on white, mustard, no mayo
(or)
Sliced bread
Sliced ham, turkey or chicken
Sliced cheese
(and)
Chips
Fruit - apples, mandarins
Dessert - home made or store bought (muffins, cookies)
Beverages
Please sign up if you are able to help. We hope you wiil bring what appeals to you - no particular quantity required. We wait for you from 9:30 to 10:00; later the food is delivered. It is then distributed by the staff of the Center. We meet at Smart and Final, in their parking lot, at Judy's gray Tesla, 1290 W San Carlos St., at the corner of Race St.
Your generosity would be greatly appreciated! See you Sunday, Dec. 7th between 9:30 and 10:00 am.
