🍽️ The Five-Course Greek Feast
Embark on a curated culinary adventure through Greece—from refreshing starters to indulgent mains and a sweet finale, each course paired with a regional wine to elevate the experience.

Course 1: Mezedes Platter (Appetizer)

• Tzatziki: Creamy yogurt, cucumber, garlic & dill
• Melitzanosalata: Smoky eggplant dip
• Tyropita: Flaky cheese-filled phyllo pastries
• Kalamata Olives & Feta
• Served with warm pita & veggie sticks
• Wine Pairing: Assyrtiko (Santorini) – Crisp, citrusy, and refreshing

🥗 Course 2: Horiatiki Salata (Village Salad)

• Tomatoes, cucumber, red onion, bell pepper, olives, feta slab
• Drizzled with Greek EVOO & oregano
• Garnished with caperberries
• Wine Pairing: Moschofilero (Peloponnese) – Floral, bright, and aromatic

🍋 Course 3: Avgolemono Soupa (Soup)

• Creamy chicken & rice soup with lemon-egg emulsion
• Finished with olive oil & fresh parsley
• Wine Pairing: Assyrtiko – Cuts through richness with zesty minerality

🍖 Course 4: Moussaka (Main)

• Layers of seasoned lamb/beef, eggplant, and béchamel
• Baked to golden perfection
• Garnished with cinnamon & mint
• Wine Pairing: Xinomavro (Naoussa/Amyndeon) – Bold, savory, and complex

🍯 Course 5: Baklava (Dessert)

• Buttery phyllo, walnuts & pistachios, honey-cinnamon syrup
• Topped with pistachios & orange zest
• Wine Pairing: Muscat of Samos – Sweet, floral, and luxurious

ABOUT MOLLYDOOKER / AUSTRALIA:

I first wrote about Mollydooker back in 2015, shortly after their iconic Carnival of Love Shiraz had been named Wine Spectator’s #2 wine of the year on their annual Top 100 list. We discovered Mollydooker a couple of years before, and it has long been one of our favorite wineries in the world. Located in the rolling hills of McLaren Vale in South Australia, near Adelaide, Winemaker and Owner Sarah Marquis creates complex, powerful, flavorful wines that have charmed wine lovers around the world and have received high praise from every wine publication.
We recently tasted with Sarah at Mollydooker in Australia and it was an amazing experience! Shortly afterward, we connected with her son and the head of global business for Mollydooker, Luke Marquis. Luke has become a great friend and we formed a partnership for tasting events. Luke will be joining us for a special one-night only tasting event at Gilley’s on Friday, September 5, and it is one you won’t want to miss!
A longtime favorite of wine expert Robert Parker, Mollydooker is “where wine goes to have fun”, and their wines and ethos in general are out of the box and more than a bit contrarian! Our tasting with Luke promises to be high-energy, whimsical and full-on fun! With creative red wines like Gigglepot, Two Left Feet, Enchanted Path and Blue-Eyed Boy (named after Luke!), Mollydooker takes you to a world full of love, adventure and deep connection with the people and things that matter most. We will be tasting a full range of wines from their stunning collection, including some wines that are club-exclusive!
