Be seen.
Be heard.
Lead without pretending to be someone you’re not!
(regardless of whether 'leader' is in your job title)
Perfect For:
Emerging tech leaders, team leads, or senior ICs who want to gain influence without performing or politicking (is this even a word?).
You'll Learn How To:
- Communicate up, across, and out—so your ideas and efforts land in the right rooms
- Talk about your team’s value in ways that feel real, not rehearsed
- Build influence through trust, not volume
- Use visibility as a leadership tool (not a personal brand™ gimmick)
- Tackle self-sabotaging habits like overexplaining, downplaying, or apologising for your impact
Your Presenter:
Gretchen Scott is the CEO of Kaleida, a platform that helps build high-performing, diverse tech teams by making career growth clear, practical, and fair. With a background spanning optimisation modeling, startup ops, and community leadership, she’s trained hundreds of emerging tech leaders and knows the difference between textbook management and the messy, human reality of leading teams.
Previously Community Manager at Cloudflare (post-acquisition of Linc.sh, where she was COO), Gretchen is also one of our Directors here at Women Coders.
Her leadership training is grounded, inclusive, occasionally irreverent, and always focused on making work better for the people doing it.
