Web Design & Development

Details

Welcome to the Women Who Code Singapore's 3rd core event this year. Join us for some insights into how to get started with HTML/CSS/Javascript front end web development, the current web development trends & what to watch out for.

This is a joint event, brought to you by Women Who Code in collaboration with Viki (a Rakuten Company, https://www.viki.com/ )

Our speakers for the event:

Hui Jing Chen (@hj_chen (https://twitter.com/hj_chen)) : A designer and front-end developer who believes HTML and CSS are the foundation of the web. She is also an ardent blogger and co-organizer of the Talk.CSS meetups. She spoke at the 2016 CSS Conf in Singapore on the importance of learning by doing to really master the art of web development.

Sher Minn Chong (@piratefsh (https://twitter.com/piratefsh)) : Sher Minn is a front-end web engineer by profession at Viki and also a casual generative artist. She was the co-founder of Rails Girls in KL, a volunteer effort to make computer science accessible to all. Some of her favourite things are web tech, teaching programming, and making weird art with code.

Jonathan Wong (@armchairdude (https://twitter.com/armchairdude)): Director of Product Management at Viki by day, and moonlights by running Katsu News, an automated news aggregator for Japanese anime and pop culture. In his previous life before Viki, he also worked in engineering, technical sales, developer relations and marketing. He is fascinated by technology and entertainment, and is grateful to be able to work at the intersection of both.
