"Empowered Women Empower Women", our motto at Women Empowered MCR for 5 years! ๐ โค๏ธ
Join us for our cultural adventure to the British Museum in London, the world's first national public museum where two million years of history are brought together under one spectacular glass roof! We will enjoy a unique opportunity to explore a collection of eight million objects that span every continent from the dawn of human culture to the present day. We will navigate the museum's iconic Greek revival architecture, the sprawling Queen Elizabeth II Great Court and witness the remarkable stories of civilisations that have shaped our modern world.
During our visit, we will:
- See the world famous Rosetta Stone that became the key to unlocking Ancient Egyptian hieroglyphs.
- Marvel at the Parthenon Sculptures and the artistry of classical Greece through these monumental works from the Acropolis.
- Uncover the Sutton Hoo Treasure from one of the most important archaeological finds in British History.
- Meet the Lewis Chessmen famous for their expressive and quirky characters.
- Experience the Great Court, Europe's largest covered public square.
- Connect as a groupโsharing what resonates, over some lunch or tea and coffee in the museum restaurant/cafรฉ, deepening our understanding and maybe spark creativity!
This is a wonderful opportunity to explore the museum together, meet new people and make new friends too ๐ค ๐
