A Truckload of Kindness: Clothing Sort Party with the Staunton Magnificent Women

Hey Magnificent Women, we've got something new, different, and community-supportive headed our way — and we need your creativity, good vibes, and woman-power energy!

I'm a volunteer and Board member at the Verona Food Pantry, and we just received an unexpected donation: a WHOLE 18-wheeler truck packed with gently-used clothes! Yep, a semi-truck full.

Knowing that our group has many women who are active in and passionate about our local community, as well as experienced thrifters who know their way around previously-loved garments, I’ve volunteered the Magnificent Women to take the lead on figuring out how to turn this donation into real impact for people in our community — and I’d love for you to help.

Join us on Friday, June 27 from 3 to 8 PM at the pantry for a come-when-you-can, leave-when-you-must Clothing Sort Party!

Here’s the vibe:
- We’ll be sorting through loads of donated clothes;
- We can get creative about how to bundle, re-home, and redistribute them;
- Bring along your own drinks (wine, beer, kombucha – your call) and snacks or a packed dinner for yourself if you like (please BYO-glassware, plate, utensils); and
- If you have other things you can bring that you think might be good (like...a source of some music would be nice, maybe scissors and ribbon or pretty yarn to wrap the bundles with, perhaps big gift bags or reusable shopping bags to house some items, maybe some pretty paper we can cut to use for tags, if you have a steamer or something to get wrinkles out, anything like that would be great!).

It's service with a twist — creative, meaningful, and full of laughter.

Come for an hour or stay for five — whatever works for you. You can even bring a female guest (just let us know when you RSVP). The more women the better, this is A LOT of clothes!

Let’s turn this truckload into a love load for our community. It’s going to be a feel-good Friday like no other! Can’t wait to see you there!
