About us
The purpose of this group is social and outdoor activities primarily in the Spring and Woodlands areas. Events include hiking, kayaking, dinner nights, firing range trips, museums, indoor rock climbing, outdoor concerts, brewery visits, escape rooms, etc. Other ideas and event suggestions are always welcome.
Who should join? Anyone in the Houston area who is interested in exploring new places and meeting new people.
There are no fees for this group, and we are not affiliated with any business or organization.

Marysee Prairie Workday
Marysee Prairie, 220 County Road 2077, Hull, TX, USVolunteering for maintenance work about an hour and fifteen minutes out from The Woodlands!
First time at this Texas Land Conservancy event.
"Marysee Prairie is the only protected remnant of native prairie in the Big Thicket area. This crossroads of coastal prairie, waving tall grasses and shorter western species, and beautiful wildflowers, contain a combination distinct from all other vegetation communities."

"Come assist Texas Land Conservancy in their ongoing effort to revive and maintain the native grasses and wildflowers on this site near Batson, Texas. Work tasks vary by month, but they involve controlling the regrowth of woody species and keeping the prairie clear for mowing. Tools are provided.If there is poor weather on the first Saturday, the workday will be scheduled for the following Saturday.
Marysee Prairie is located in Liberty County, approximately 65 miles northeast of central Houston, between Moss Hill and Batson. 30.254899°, -94.6800920176° you can put these coordinates into google maps for best directions.

Interested in carpooling? I’m planning to leave WDL around 7:00 am. I usually gather at the Bella Green parking lot off of Research Forest Drive, but we can make different arrangements as needed.
Also: after the event, I may explore the nearby Big Thicket Lance Rosier Unit. Combo of driving and walking depending on conditions.
