Part "hidden" nature trail, part Woodlands paved trails.

6.7 Miles!

Meet at the pool parking lot (2nd from Research Forest).

We'll hike along the jogger's path along the creek from the Alden Bridge Park down to Gosling and then loop around Research Forest and part of Cochran's crossing to get back to our starting point.

Possible that we will need to adjust, as this informal path crossed creeks that can be full and block our progress. Even so, nice to see a relatively unplanned trail in this hyper-planned community.

Caveats:

I am by no means a professional guide, so please be responsible for your own safety, be prepared to navigate on your own, and be physically able to enjoy the hiking.

All levels of experience welcome, but be sure to inform us beforehand of any accommodations or particular interests and we'll go from there. I have no ego involved in the route or pace, so just keep me informed if you are faster or slower than the main body of the group or if you have other suggestions.

The goal is to have some fun outdoors!

Weather:
Average weather is pretty hot! Typical summer temps, so be prepared! Temps usually range from mid 70s at night to high-90s daytime. Overcast or mostly cloudy about 20% of the time. Thunderstorms and lightening possible, so watch the weather forecasts!

Recommendations:
I always recommend plenty of water, snacks, sunscreen & insect repellent as a start.

Check out hiking guidelines online for other suggestions if you are new to hiking or need a refresher. I would download the map and/or have a paper back up if you are cautious, too!

Edit your RSVP! I would rather have more people show up than have delays waiting for those who don't. Please don't sign up if you are tentative; just show up! If you do need to cancel, please edit your RSVP asap!

Communicate! Things happen! If you experience delays, comment or dm and keep us informed. This holds for during events, too. We will adjust or accommodate whenever possible.

ATTENDING THIS GAME NIGHT MEANS THAT YOU UNDERSTAND AND AGREE TO THE FOLLOWING:

We have fun playing games such as Euchre, Shanghai Rummy, Canasta, Rummikub, Domino, 5 Crown, Uno, Rack-O, Mexican Train Domino, Farkle etc BRING GAMES THAT YOU LIKE.

These games are set up for people to have fun, hang with friends and play games. If you are running late, it's ok, come in and start your own game or wait for the other games to finish. It is up to you to filter into the group.

RULES:

• Keep the fun at a level 10 or higher
• Be accommodating
• Set game rules prior to playing
• Pick up after yourself before and after games
• DO NOT call others derogatory names or bring drama otherwise you will not be allowed back into the group

We will be in the banquet room on the far-right side of the restaurant. Sometimes we are in the main dinning area. Just look around for people who are playing games. See you there.

Join me in using the disc golf hills for some natural surface elevation training, I.e. walking up and down the hills. Usually just shy of a mile total with 15-20 stair equivalents in elevation. Can do more or less as you see fit!

Probably will stretch, then do as much as I can do for the first half hour to an hour on the hills. Likely then stretch afterwards as well. Nothing too sophisticated.

Short-ish walk then along the backwoods and then paved paths around the area for about 6 miles starting at 9:00 AM if you'd like to join in then and skip the hills!

There are facilities at Terramont Park if needed!

I'm thinking ahead to a Palo Duro SP roadtrip next month and training and prepping as best I can.
