Lone Star Hiking Trail - Four Notches

Details

Meet at LSHT Trailhead #8 for the Four Notches Loop! Early start to manage the heat as much as we can. Meant to help toughen up for a September camping and hiking trip, so deliberately choosing more vigorous local options.

About 9.5 miles with plenty of creek crossings, so bring waterproof shoes and hiking sticks. If I recall correctly, about the equivalent to 17 floors as counted by my phone.

I'll depart from The Woodlands a hour beforehand for about a 45 minute drive. If you'd like to ride along, contact me!

Preparation:
Bring water, sunscreen and insect repellent and a poncho or umbrella in case of rain. Walking sticks are a good idea; I have spare if you want to borrow some. Driving shoes are a good idea, too!

Most of these paths are pretty wide nature trails, but there will be roots and water or mud, so be sure to have good shoes and be in good enough shape to skirt downed trees, handle the summer heat, etc.

As always, speak up at any time if you need accommodations or have any questions.

If you are really faster or slower, be prepared to navigate with your own resources.

Caveats:
this is not a professional organization, but rather a gathering of like-minded outdoors enthusiasts. No formal responsibilities or liabilities are implied.

Courtesies: Update your RSVP status!
Please don't sign up if you are tentative and be sure to cancel if you change your mind. We don't want delays from no-shows. It is totally acceptable to show up (on time) on your own rather than the opposite.
