Mainly morning hike along bike trails and paths behind Collins Park and Meyer Park in Spring on Cypresswood.

85% dirt or grass Mountain Biking Trails (MTB) trails with some road side and paved path segments. The MTB portions are wooded but sometimes wet. We will share with bikers, too, so be ready to step aside as needed.

Wear waterproof boots and bring along spare socks if recently raining! Maybe walking sticks if you use them.

It’s great for a shaded, more natural walk with woodlands and creek views.

Have a snack if you need and sun spray and insect repellent and water, even though its a while until we officially begin summer!

Boilerplate:
Caveats:
I am by no means a professional guide, so please be responsible for your own safety, be prepared to navigate on your own, and be physically able to enjoy the hiking.

All levels of experience welcome, but be sure to inform us beforehand of any accommodations or particular interests and we'll go from there. I have no ego involved in the route or pace, so just keep me informed if you are faster or slower than the main body of the group or have other suggestions.

Weather:
Average weather is pretty moderate in April, but be prepared! Temps usually range from low 60s at night to mid to high-80s daytime. Overcast or mostly cloudy less than 40% of the time. Thunderstorms and lightening possible, so watch the weather forecasts!
Semper preperavit!

Recommendations:
I always recommend plenty of water, snacks, sunscreen & insect repellent as a start.

Check out hiking guidelines online for other suggestions if you are new to hiking or need a refresher. Message me as needed, too. I would download the map and/or have a paper back up if you are cautious, too!

Courtesies:

Edit your RSVP! I would rather have more people show up than have delays waiting for those who don't. Please don't sign up if you are tentative; just show up if/when you can make it! If you do need to cancel, please edit your RSVP asap!

Communicate! Things happen! If you experience delays, comment or dm and keep us informed. This holds for during events, too. We will adjust or accommodate whenever possible.

Estimated 10.75 miles so longer distance and closer to 4 hours projected depending on our pace. I'm slow as all get out now (knee issues) so will be "sweep" if you're fast or at least faster than me. Know the planned route and move at your own comfort level. All welcome!

As always, just let me know if you’re interested in a shorter walk and I’ll call out distances etc.
