Eisenhower State Park Hike

Let's explore the Eisenhower State Park, taking a loopy route around trails, camping roads, and a bit of the Park roads to see the whole place. It'll be a mixture of natural and paved surfaces, with some
shaded sections.

The distance is the max I could Map out, but you are welcome to do whatever length you like. Lots of looping and spots to cut out as needed.

After lunch, I may take out my little kayak, too. Probably hugging the shore, but feel free to join me or offer your own suggestions.

First time visit, so we'll be truly "Woodlands Explorers!"

Part of a camping and hiking trip familiarizing ourselves with this part of Texas and Oklahoma, visiting nearby opportunities for day trips. Everyone welcome to participate as you see fit. Plenty of hotels etc. in the area, for example, and just hiking or joining in on the campsite fun always an option.

Caveats:
I am by no means a professional guide, so please be responsible for your own safety, be prepared to navigate on your own, and be physically able to enjoy the hiking. All levels of experience welcome, but be sure to inform us beforehand of any accommodations or particular interests and we'll go from there. I have no ego involved in the route or pace, so just keep me informed if you are faster or slower than the main body of the group or have other suggestions.

Weather:
Average weather is pretty moderate in June, but be prepared! Temps usually range from mid-60s at night to high-80s daytime. Overcast or mostly cloudy in this rainy season. Thunderstorms and lightening possible, so watch the weather forecasts!

Recommendations:
I always recommend plenty of water, snacks, sunscreen & insect repellent as a start.
Check out hiking guidelines online for other suggestions if you are new to hiking or need a refresher. I would download the map and/or have a paper back up if you are cautious, too!
