May 9th @ Bradfield Centre, Cambridge at 6pm

We're looking at Google Tag manager and how it helps improve site analytics. Google will sunset Universal Analytics (UA) in July 2023 and replace it with Google Analytics 4 (GA4). Thus Tag Manager will become more important for analytics that yields actionable information.

Eric Leuthardt in Dallas is our expert speaker. He says: Everyone with a website collects analytics. However, most sites deploy multiple, single-purpose plugins, e.g. Facebook, Google, Yelp, LinkedIn, Hotjar, etc. What if there was a better way?

This event answers the common questions around Google Tag Manager and how you leverage it for analytics:-

  • What is Google Tag Manager?
  • What is Google Tag Manager used for? Is it easy to use?
  • How is Google Tag Manager different from Google Analytics?
  • Why should I use Google Tag Manager?
  • What are the benefits?
  • What can I track in Google Tag Manager?

Eric Leuthardt walks the line between art and technology, with a New York no-nonsense approach. Programming since the mid-80s and web designing since the mid-90s, he officially started in the IT industry in 1995. Two Masters degrees later, Eric launched his own tech company and specializes in IT security and small business support. His website offers low-cost, mini-courses https://www.dfwwp.com .He also manages groups, including DFW WordPress Group, DFW WordPress Ninjas and the Eric Leuthardt Photography Club.

We'll start at 6pm, with half an hour for chatting about WordPress, networking and meeting old pals. There will be a variety of free beers and nibbles. This format seems to work:

18:30 In the auditorium: Depending on numbers, everyone introduces themselves, max 10 seconds each.

18:40 Eric's presentation. There'll be a little time for questions and discussions, maybe even a quick presentation on alternative analytics solutions.

19:45 Leave the auditorium, and back for more chatting & networking.

20:00 The Bradfield would like us to have tidied up and left by 8pm.

Meetup doesn't handle hybrid meetings very well, so I'll send out a Zoom link to our far-flung friends on Monday 9th.

Thanks to Chris for providing Zoom

Looking forward to meeting everyone.

Simon & Chris.
