Calling all language lovers!
Welcome to the very first session of Language Lab — a focused, friendly study group to help you stay on track and stay inspired.
Whether you’re brushing up on vocab, tackling tricky grammar, or just trying to stay consistent, this is your space to lock in and learn.
Bring whatever you’re working on:
Flashcards, Duolingo, textbooks, writing prompts, grammar drills — it’s all welcome. WiFi is available at our host venue.
All levels. All languages. Everyone’s welcome.
Come build the habit, get in the zone, and be part of the beginning of something special.

Here’s the Game Plan:

• We’ll kick things off with a quick hello/intro and settle in at 1:30 PM. Please help support our host venue by getting a drink. If you arrive late, just find a place to settle down and check in during the break.
• At 1:35 PM, we begin our first Pomodoro session:
  🍅 25 minutes of focused, independent study
  🧘‍♂️ 5-minute break to stretch, breathe, or chat
  🍅 Then we dive into a second 25-minute Pomodoro
• After we wrap, feel free to stick around to:
  🔸Swap study tips & share what you’re learning
  🔸Hang out with fellow language nerds
  🔸Drop a note in our suggestion box — let us know what kinds of events, talks, or meetups you’d love to see
  🔸Chip in a small donation ($1–$2 suggested via cash or Venmo) to help keep the group going

Join us for the very first Words and Worlds mixer - a casual gathering for anyone passionate about language, travel, and culture! Come hang out and help kick off something new!

Whether you're gearing up for your first big trip, fluent in five languages, have lived the expat life, or just love exploring the world and the people in it, this is your space. Come grab a drink, slap on a name tag, and jump right in!

Expect: vibes like maps unfolding, stories flowing, ideas growing, and that “yes, these are my people” moment. Come as you are!

• There will be a suggestion/donation box — tell us what kinds of events, talks, or ideas you’d love to see. Suggested donation of $1–$2 to help keep the group running
• Parking is available nearby at California Parking and Mission Bartlett Garage, but public transportation is strongly encouraged. (Drinking + driving = not cool)
