Lightning Talks #5: What nobody tells you about living in Portugal @ Kübe

Short talks, real stories, then a proper chat. Lightning Talks #5 is back at Kübe in Alvalade, Lisbon on Thursday, Nov 5.

Three people, ten minutes each, on the rules nobody wrote down about living in Portugal. Then live questions, then the room opens up for networking. A friendly evening for anyone new in town, working remotely, building something of their own, or curious how other people got through the first years.

The question for the night: which of your home rules did you drop here, and which did you keep? Bring your answer. The Q&A is the best part, and this room has people from all over.

Who's speaking

• Lisa Jerahtina: founder and CEO of Redeco, a curated marketplace for pre-loved furniture, and host of the Redeco Room podcast. Before that, a decade in fintech at Revolut, Railsbank and LHV.
• Josh Polanco: an American in Lisbon. In 2022 he sold most of what he owned, travelled, and then chose Lisbon. Today he leads Living Lisbon Collective at eXp Realty Portugal.
• Dr. Ana Paula Loures-Elias on "Stop Working Like Everyone Else". A former US professor and late-diagnosed autistic ADHD founder who helps neurodivergent people stop copying how everyone else works.

Your moderator is Pedro Ayala, co-founder of Worktugal, who runs the Q&A.

The night

• 7:30pm doors, come up to the first floor
• 8:00pm the talks
• 8:30pm live Q&A, ask out loud, scan the QR on screen (anonymous if you like), or write it on a card at the door
• 9:00pm open networking, with the patio if the evening is dry

Good to know
Free to attend, limited seats. Come as you are and bring a friend. Can't make it? Please update your RSVP so someone on the waitlist gets your spot.

The talks and the Q&A are indoors in Kübe's hall, so the weather does not change the plan. Free wifi, coffee and tea, refillable water (bring a bottle), a glass of local red wine during the networking. No smoking, Kübe is pet friendly. The rest of the building is for Kübe's own members.

We may take photos and video during the night for the recap and our channels. If you would rather not appear, tell the crew at the door and we will keep you out of them.
