Keith Waithe is an award winning flautist, composer, teacher and expert proponent of a vocal ‘gymnastics’ system. He is the founder and leader of the Macusi Players - a world music jazz band that blends rhythms from the Caribbean, South America, Asia and Africa. Keith mixes many sounds from his collection of over 204 flutes, fusing enigmatic musical forms in performance.

He established Essequibo Music to work in educational settings and,
also works on radio productions, theatre and television projects. Keith’s 8th CD, Gathering Echoes, has received excellent reviews.

Keith and his band continue to thrill audiences with their unique sound - a fresh fusion of beautiful flute melodies and vocal gymnastics accompanied by Kora, African-Caribbean Drums and soulful voices.

Jo Jo Yates - talented kora Player, vocalist, Master Drummer & Percussionist. He has been on the Oxford contemporary Music Residency with Essequibo Music teaching in a variety of educational settings.

Eustace Williams –founder member of the Macusi Players. Eustace has acted as the informal Music Director and is an excellent and creative Bass Player.

Donald Gamble - an exciting and talented Caribbean Percussionist and Drummer who has been performing with Early Baroque Music / Jazz ensemble Respectable and Imagination. He has done extensive educational work with Essequibo Music.
