Overview
In each session, we put pen to paper with the help of writing prompts and discuss chapters from a writing-craft book we have collectively chosen.
This meeting will be hybrid: both in person and online.

On the Sunday before the session, we will send the Zoom meeting invitation (including the password) to everyone who RSVPed.

Guided Discussion
We are currently reading the writing-craft book, Creating Character Arcs: The Masterful Author’s Guide to Uniting Story Structure, Plot, and Character Development, by K. M. Weiland.
For the chapters we discuss at this session, see the agenda below.
Note: Although reading the book is not required to participate in the discussion, you will benefit more from the discussion if you do so.
Agenda (times are approximate)
6:30–6:45: Introduce yourself and what you've been working on.
(1–2 min/person)
6:45: Inspirational quotation.
6:45–7:10: Get those creative juices flowing with a five-minute free-writing exercise, and optionally share it.
Write in any genre or style.
7:10–7:45: Get your writing engine revved with a ten-minute free-writing exercise, and optionally share it.
Write in any genre or style.
7:45–8:30: Guided discussion of the book.
Weiland, ch.4, “The Characteristic Moment.”
Time permitting: Critique session.
We will give constructive feedback to members who have submitted their writing. Please attend a meeting before submitting your work.
8:45: Close the session (next meeting: June 3).
